Chapter One: Rhosh Adventure Encounters
1st encounter: Remember to make the forest respect you and fear you.
- In the night time, while exiting, bat-like things attack, drawn by her presence and disturbance.
Result?: Lilaea defeats most and several run away.
2nd encounter: A passing acquaintance.
- Lilaea is surprised and attacked by a human thug, Boudin, who attempts to subdue her and rob her.
Result?: Lilaea instead communicates with Boudin, pays him for information, and takes him to bed, leaving during his slumber.
3rd encounter: A large passing disturbance.
- While passing a blind turn on the road, Lilaea runs directly into a Hill Giant calmly and happily walking the old ghost road.
Result?: Lilaea smiles and keeps walking, and Melg does the same. No combat or interaction.
4th encounter: Bandits the 1st.
- On the road, bandits assault Lilaea, man with hammer and unseen archer.
Result?: Lilaea manages to overcome the hammer fighter with some skill and much luck, scaring the archer away. Gained some coin and a war hammer. Left body behind after taking valuables.
5th encounter: Did you miss us?
- Droppers return in smaller numbers for the second time.
Result?: Lilaea defeats most and one runs away.
6th encounter: A flash of light in the night sky.
- On the road, Prism flashes in a prismatic flash into a field somewhat south (few hours) of Lilaea, creating several dozen Wil-o-Wisps.
Result?: Lilaea arises from her rest and follows the light to its source, finding a number of Wil-o-Wisps, one of the lesser Wil-o-Wisps leading her to a craggy crater area and attempting to dispose of her there. Lilaea fought it off to a standstill and then fled the area.
7th encounter: Team fighting, Mass Droppers.
- Leaving Lord Atterdai’s keep, Lilaea is attacked en masse by over twenty Droppers.
Result?: Accompanied by Toey and Jack, Lilaea is swarmed over, but the three manage to harness their fire as a weapon and turn the tide of the battle, killing over fifteen and driving the rest away. All three were poisoned, with Toey and Lilaea having double dose poison.
8th encounter: Unexpected encounters.
- Was caught by Maxys sneaking into the eastern Giants Arm’s Fortress, who summoned John Speaker. Upon John showing up, Jack and Toey, following invisibly and flying, revealed themselves by Jack Psionically attacking both John and Lilaea with a stunning energy blast, almost killing both of them.
Result?: The mind-controlled Toey began to hack into John Speaker, and barely alive and conscious, Lilaea fled the battle, hearing the sounds of conflict behind her.
9th encounter: Magic Drops in.
- Now teamed up with Ren and Maxys, Lilaea and company are attacked by Droppers who attack with invisibility, are more experienced and canny, and an unseen breed that are more Drider/Goblins then the lesser Goblin/spiders, and the new Droppers can cast spells as 3rd level sorcerers (2nd level, invisibility, melf’s acid arrow, blindness/deafness, magic missile used normally).
Result?: The party fought them to a standstill, and the droppers remaining withdrew from combat, all the spell casters still alive and mostly unharmed, but most grunt soldiers dead. Most of the party’s resources exhausted and all at low HP. Spellcaster Dropper-Driders departed calmly.
SPECIAL NOTE: Introduction of, “Cure-All Potions!” Minor version introduced here. 1 potion = 13 points of healing (cure light wounds maximized), cures virtually all spell effects, poisons, and diseases 3rd level and under. PLUS, drinker acts as though they rested for a full 8 hours (effect lasts for 24 hours maximum, then real rest is needed). 1,500 GP each.
10th encounter: A rather large belly full.
The party (Lilaea, Ren, and Maxys) exhausted from days of very hard travel through dangerous forest and little to no rest, unknowingly trespass on the territory of an angry, charismatic, and somewhat intelligent female Ogre named, “Kar’tech”, who demanded they drop all their items and they could leave with their lives.
Result?: Lilaea was able to talk to the Ogre, making a brilliant show of herself and convincing the Ogre to let them leave if, in return, they would return with the corpses of many droppers for her to eat (minimum: dozen). Supposed to return in a week. NOTE: Lilaea did not return, but Ren and Maxys lead a party of men to clear out many droppers and leave their corpses near Kar’tech’s territory.
11th encounter: Battle for Western Giants Arms Keep. (LONG ENTRY)
Lilaea led John Speaker, Ren, Maxys, Vixort, and about 14 other rangers (plus a rather scared-e cat Druid) to Atterdai’s fort, the Western Giants Arm’s Fort.
Result?: There, completely unexpected by Atterdai, they sent men to infiltrate the inner grounds through low windows, and then a frontal assault where watch guardsmen were killed quickly, the wall scaled by Lilaea and Maxys, a fly over by the Druid, where they were met on the other side by more guards, as well as Avaya the Flying, invisible wizard who Slowed Lilaea, and in return was Stunned. While Lilaea and Avaya fought, The Druid was attacked by Toey, who dodged and then rolled TWO NATURAL TWENTIES, critical hitting with Tanglefoot bag chemicals to the face of Toey, knocking him out FLAT prone and entangling him solidly. Lilaea was able to assist the struggling druid to open the portcullis, allowing the rangers to run in, and Ren and Vixort to secure the unconscious Toey and remove him from the battle. Meanwhile, Maxys killed a bandit and used his grappling hook to first hook onto, and then climb up, the floating Avaya. Maxys knocked the scroll out of his hand he had been about to cast, and then proceeded to grapple him, digging the grappling hook claws deep into his back, piercing his robes and into his body. After fighting off the stunning glance, Avaya fought against Maxys but couldn’t shake him free. Simultaneously, Lilaea used her scroll of, “Dimensional Anchor” to keep Avaya from escaping via magical instant travel, so Avaya did the last option available; he flew straight up. Back at the keep, Lilaea was attacked by multiple bandit soldiers, but one of which turned out to be Boudin, the human good-hearted bandit she had bested with words and her body weeks before. Boudin, seeing and recognizing Lilaea, immediately turned coat and joined Lilaea’s side, helping her fight off Atterdai’s group more effectively. Then, Atterdai and many more bandits appeared from the fort, pouring into the inner courtyard. Atterdai immediately attacked with his magical sword, summoning a freezing gust of ice and hail that almost killed several rangers, and Vixort, immediately. Jack then appeared, floating, and used the same hyper-powered psionic attack that almost killed John Speaker, killing off the rangers that Atterdai had badly wounded and mutilating Vixort. The remaining rangers not fighting Atterdai (and dying), began heavily peppering Jack with arrows. Lilaea then charged Atterdai, while John Speaker entered the battle, charging and killing one of the bandits with a single blow. Atterdai continued attacking the rangers, mortally wounding two of them, when Lilaea entered the direct melee with Atterdai, wading in and then backing out again, the two closing and coming apart for healing and regrouping. John Speaker’s men finally overcame the last of the fighting bandits, and the rest surrendered, and Atterdai flashed multi-color (Speed of Light use, from Key of Awakening), gained a lot of speed, and ran from the battle into the fort. Lilaea, John, and Ren followed him, and saw him use the Key to open a doorway on the wall inside the chamber of Draconic mysteries, right hand side.
12th encounter: The Three Challenges, part 1.
- Lilaea gained the second key of awakening (and Vertacy!) and used it to transport herself back to the eastern Giants Arm’s Fort to challenge Atterdai.
Result?: Challenge 1: Pit fight with half Ogre, half Red Dragon (2/3rds power). Lilaea, while scorched, handled this with little difficulty, and used the golden claw to open the doorway to her next challenge.
Challenge 2: Dropped inside a new chamber, Lilaea’s weight caused a trap to be sprung immediately where water begun filling up in the chamber. Lilaea found a word puzzle, which she solved without a single missed move for double experience, and with only a few feet of water in the room.
Challenge 3: Lilaea was dropped down a long tube, spilling out onto a grate where the water from the last room drained out. The grate was in a long, long hallway lined with curtains on either side of the hallway, each curtain being a different color and different texture, different material, different design. Lilaea walked down the hallway for a while, trying to move curtains and finding windows behind them that each were purely black and lightless. Behind one set where the curtains were thin, black and wispy, (and moved of their own accord to display their window to Lilaea). Behind it she saw a creature of her dreams, a creature that shadows clung to, a half-fey, half dragon male about to be attacked. She finally figured out that sound could pass through the barrier even if physical attacks could not, and screamed loud enough that the cry was heard, and he turned around and destroyed his assassins with a single attack. As the portal was closing, the figure she watched threw a magical ring through the doorway. The ring is made of a silvery material, perfectly smooth, with a crest featuring a raven in flight before two crossed swords.
13th Encounter: Chamber of Awakening:
ATTERDAI: BOSS BATTLE.
Results?: Lilaea and Vertacy crossed the final door into the chamber of awakening, and were immediately ambushed by a hiding Atterdai. The battle was epic; Atterdai and Lilaea both invoking Aura shileds within the chamber (100 HP each, DR: 10/Aura Shield, and 10 Damage vs all attacks of non-aura shield variety. Atterdai used virtually all of his frost magic from “Frostbite”, Lilaea and Vertacy combined used almost all of their magic, Atterdai using “Frost Grease” spells, his Frost duplicates, Ice Armor, and more. Lilaea figured out which ice duplicate he was, and her and Vertacy destroyed the rest even while on the run. Lilaea had a break through (used hero points for the first time!), gained a 2nd use of her stunning glance and managed to Stun Atterdai when she was within moments of death, and tore out his throat.
END OF RHOSH ADVENTURE!
14th Encounter – A rocky disposition.
Gargoyles! Lilly had just set off to find Ren after almost two years of training with Malrick, the legendary fighter of Zaphglen. Three rocky gargoyles had been created out of the rocky hills just near where Lilaea slept and in their birth hunger, attacked Lilaea immeidately, but were swiftly destroyed. One lived to run away and live it’s life.
15th Encounter – Somewhere over the rainbow.
Enfys (INN-FYYss). The rainbow prismatic haired goblin. Lilaea woke to the sound of someone or something going through her things nearby. When opening one eye, she spied a thin, emaciated female golbin going through her small pack of belongings. She also noticed that the goblin’s hair was strangely and completely prismatically rainbow colored, in every shade imaginable, and with many parts of her hair being in strange configurations and styles, all seemingly randomly.
16th Encounter – Boudin pt. II: Good cheer and Phoenix’s.
The night Lilaea arrives and meet’s Boudin’s crew, she’s greeted by an illusionist display of a giant Formorian creature (Tentacles for feet, shooting fire from it’s eyes, 50 feet tall). They meet well, break out good food and drink and while eating and making merry, they see a Phoenix fly overhead, but only Lilaea knows what it is.
Further encounters are added as individual entries.
